Dear Families,
PARCC Testing Schedule
Practice at Home!
This April, your child will be taking part in Colorado's recently adopted assessment, PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers). Starting in 3rd grade, students are assessed in English Language Arts/Literacy and Math. This assessment is all on the computer. Last year, the consensus with the kids was that the test was "engaging" and "fun". But...the fourth grade teachers know that even though kids say it's fun, there's still some stress and anxiety attached to the test. We want to do everything to make this a positive experience for your child (and you!). You can access some practice tests and get more information about PARCC by going to the following website:
http://www.parcconline.org/assessments/practice-tests
We have tried very hard to incorporate technology into every school day through typing, PowerPoint, math computer programs, etc. in order to help kids feel more comfortable on the computer. I'm not going to lie....some of these kids are more computer savvy than me :)
Testing Dates:
March 22-24 (ELA Literacy)
April 18-21 (Math)
We will be testing in the morning and afternoon. Please make sure to get your child to school on time those days with a good breakfast and lots of rest. If they are not on time, they will not be able to test with their peers and will be pulled at a later time to complete the missing assessments.
Thank you for helping prepare your child.
